The Sweet Sound of Humming...

No whispers today, but instead there is the sweet sound of humming coming from Thyme Cottage as Muriel goes about her business...

She really is most cheerful today

She has the most pretty towel hanging on the newly installed towel rail that has green accents to match the other bathroom furniture.

Is that a reflection we can see in the mirror?

It cheers her to see Albert's shaver on the washstand.  It seems he is home to stay at along last.

Yes it really is a good thing she sighs to herself and continues her humming as she makes her way downstairs.

She continues with tuneful humming whilst she gives the floor a going over with her trusty carpet sweeper.

Soon it will be time to sit down for a cup of tea. 

Meanwhile in the kitchen.... beware little mouse, don't let the whispers draw you in.

What's New at Thyme Cottage?

The Whispers continue to draw us in...

as does the smell of baking

Mmmm delicious pie and freshly baked bread.  

You may have noticed there is now a kitchen shelf on the wall and a new table on which Muriel can now work.  It has certainly made life easier in her little kitchen and for that she is grateful.

She is still a little short on crockery and pots and pans but so far has been able to make do with what she has.

Their hallway is large enough to have a little dining room table on which sits the candles they use for lighting at night.

Under the stairs sits the towel rack/airer and washing basket.

Some of the treasures Albert brought home from his travels are being put to use and his painting has been put on the wall above the desk.

The book case has some greenware china on the shelves. 

Albert and Muriel are happy that the Whispers have brought the house back to life again and can imagine sitting by the fire on cold evenings, all snug and cozy.

Coming to Life...

As we take a sneaky look into Thyme Cottage we can see it coming to life...

It seems they are rather fond of clocks, perhaps in fear of time standing still...but do they all tell the same time?

There is now a little shelf with laundry powder above the wringer.

The kitchen hutch dresser has signs of freshly baked bread on the shelves...I bet the smell wafts along on the breeze as the Whispers tell their tale.

Oh but what is this? 

Don't tell me they have a mouse problem at Thyme Cottage?

 

Coffee Table, Tea and Books Please.

All is well, Muriel is pleased that there is now a sign beside the door, just in case those who are summoned by the whispers get confused about the number 7 on the door.

She is also very content at present as there is now a beautiful coffee table on which to place her cup of tea.

It is quite a beautiful coffee table.

With pretty flowers.

Just perfect she thinks.

Not only that, but a bookcase with some books has appeared as if by magic.

Of course we all know it has something to do with the Whispers who understand the importance of books, both in the past and particularly in this day and age when much has become digital and can be changed oh too easily to suit the current narrative.  Neither do they want a square box known as the brainwashing machine (aka TV) in their home.  Oh no indeed they do not, books will do them 'just fine' thank you very much.

Beckoning Us In

The whispers are beckoning us in to Thyme Cottage

Don't be mislead by the number 7 on the door frame, this is indeed Thyme Cottage... 

There is now a lovely planter of flowers to welcome you

Muriel has been busy in the kitchen baking a pie, (perhaps it was the smell of her baking that was beckoning us in....) and is now doing the dishes.  

She knows that Albert has rather an appetite for her pies.

 A little while later she can be seen relaxing in the lounge whilst Albert plays the piano.

Bliss she thinks.

 

Plumbing at Thyme Cottage!

Of course as the Whispers tell a story, and awaken Thyme Cottage it becomes apparent that certain updates are required.  The most of important of which is the bathroom according to Albert...

The bathroom is now operational, much to Albert and Muriel's relief.  Although the plumbing doesn't extend to bathroom sink, a washbowl does just fine.
